As well as the standard pregnancy health check-ups to assess the wellbeing of mother and baby, I offer emotional and practical support. I can support you with birth planning and preparation, birth education, debriefing from previous births and VBAC planning. I also offer pregnancy massage, Mother blessing ceremonies and shamanic drum journeys to connect you with your baby in pregnancy. Check out my offerings to see what services I offer.
Antenatal Package A complete package of private antenatal care in the comfort of your own home with a midwife you know and trust to see you through your pregnancy. The antenatal package can complement your NHS care, or can replace it. Visits are usually monthly until 30 weeks, then fortnightly until 38 weeks, then weekly until birth. It includes:
- Home visits at a time that is convenient to you and your partner. - Unhurried appointments for me to listen to you, answer your questions fully, address your concerns, and work with you holistically so we can explore your choices and options. - You are still entitled to routine blood tests, scans, screening tests and any hospital care that may be needed through the NHS and I can help you to organise this. - Dietary recommendations to support a healthy pregnancy, based on your individual needs, history, preferences, habits and blood tests. - Bonding and connecting with your baby in pregnancy. - Birth preparation, including looking at and working with your personal fears and beliefs around birth. - Access to a known midwife throughout your pregnancy - available by phone, text and email outside of visit times. - Full body pregnancy massage at reduced rates for clients. Private antenatal appointments and one-off consultations Private antenatal appointments at a time that is convenient to you. These one-off appointments are unhurried and last as long as you need. Ideal for complementing your NHS care and looking at your options and choices - I can provide you with independent advice and support and give you evidence based information and resources to support you to make choices that feel right for you. Fee: £150
Birth preparation and early parenting classes In the comfort of your home and tailored to your own needs – whether it’s your first baby and you need to know everything, your second or third baby and feel you need to refresh, are planning your first home birth, or are with a new partner. Private birth preparation classes are individualised so you gain the knowledge and confidence you need. Prepare for labour, birth and early parenthood. Learn practical skills and tips to support you in having the best birth on the day. Great for busy people as I come to you and schedule the classes around your availability. Classes are tailored to your needs, but can cover:
The physiology of labour – so you can use your body to your advantage
Practical techniques for labour and relaxation
What to expect if things don’t go according to plan, and how to deal with this if this happens
Tips and advice on how to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals
Role of birth partners
Postnatal transition and changes
Breastfeeding and the fourth trimester
Five hours of teaching, usually split into two sessions of 2 ½ hours. Fee: £325 for five hours of teaching- can also be split between two couples if you have someone you wish to share with.
Skype/Zoom support and birth coaching Tailored and bespoke sessions to support you on your journey to birth. Ongoing support and contact through pregnancy to help you navigate your journey to birth and make the right choices for you along the way. Fee: £80 per session or £350 for a package of 5 hours.
